Friends and colleagues describe Diane as happy, bubbly, positive, trustworthy and inspiring. She is happily married, a proud mum to one handsome 14 year old and together they live in their warm, friendly, family home in North Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Diane worked in the Financial Services industry shaping and delivering transformational business change programmes incorporating cultural change, new business processes and technologies. She left what was a well-established career at the end of 2014 after opting for voluntary redundancy. Like many, Diane was looking to get out of the rat race, simplify her life and do what really makes her happy.
For over 15 years, Diane has supported her parents as her mum was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease aged just 54. Their journey has been challenging, scary and relentless and is still on-going. Diane has experienced the good, the bad and the very ugly times and is passionate about ensuring the learnings from her experience are transformed into positive improvements for those that may follow.
Her passion to help people has shone professionally as a reliable and strong line manager for over 20 years – supporting staff through life changing events, career progression, bullying and the ever changing workplace landscape. Outside of the traditional workplace Diane has been a Committee Member of Alzheimer Scotland’s National Dementia Carer’s Action Network (NDCAN) since 2011 and works voluntarily alongside her colleagues to help ensure that carers become an integral part of the planning and implementation of health and social care policy and practice. Early 2015, Diane formally commenced work as a Trustee for Alzheimer Scotland and in 2017 accepted the role of Honorary Secretary. She is proud to work with other Board members overseeing the finances, physical assets, and strategic plans to ensure the continued vitality of the organisation.
Diane also loves to cook, dance and spend time working on and driving her little classic car in the beautiful Scottish countryside.
Diane is a loyal, caring, trustworthy people person. She cares and thrives on supporting people through change in their personal lives, in sports and in their careers. Her happy is seeing the delight and joy in others as they achieve their goals and realise their dreams.
